From July 2 to 9 Moldova for Christ ministry conducted English Camp 2012 in the city of Cupcini, Northern Moldova. 150 participants of all ages from all ends of the country joined the camp. Some participants traveled as long as seven hours by bus. This year we taught the study about Abraham using “God’s brave explorer” Precept Bible study in English. Everybody enjoyed studying these materials because they teach you how to discover the truth for yourself and how to apply it in your everyday life.

Cupcini church members were very active in opening their home to participants that came to camp from other cities and villages. So many church members from Cupcini, Edinet, Briceni, Balti, Gordinesti and Chisinau churches volunteered at the kitchen preparing meals for all campers three times a day that almost every day we had more than enough people wanting to help. Some volunteers came as early as three days in advance to help with all preparation, and worked all day long doing all that was needed.

Fifteen orphans joined the camp and for most of them it was the longest distance they traveled in their life. It was great that they were placed in the camp with other kids. They were moved when found out they will be staying with Christian families all camp. The change in them was so amazing. The first day some of them cried every time we tried to talk to them. But by the end of camp they were like part of our big family – running, playing, laughing, singing with us, and just enjoying the time together. Number of them were saved.

Over the years baseball clinics became indispensable part of the English Camp and an additional attraction. This year we had T-ball clinic for small kids and baseball clinics for older kids. And of course the BIG game last day of the camp, when most participants from the camp went to the field also, supporting their friends as everybody strived for victory. Chuck Nave, baseball player from Sanibel, FL is the heart of our baseball program for years. As result, Moldova for Christ Ministry already has three teams that meet for Bible study and baseball trainings several times every week in three cities: Cupcini, Balti and Bogdanesti.

Another tradition at English camps is to celebrate the 4th of July with the whole camp. Parents of a girl in the camp bought roses for every American citizen in the camp and the flowers were presented to them on the stage during morning chapel. At the evening all-camp meeting a presentation was prepared to show how Bible values were foundational at the writing of United States Constitution, presented by Chuck Nave.

Most moving event in camp was one evening meeting when after the sermon preached by Mitchell Pezzi an invitation to repent and trust Jesus was given. One boy said to the leader of the group sitting next to him: I want to go forward, but I am afraid to go alone. Can you go with me to the stage? After these words two of them went forward and kneeled at the cross. One by one more kids joined them, until the stage was completely filled with about 50 children and adults seeking forgiveness from Jesus Christ for their sin. One little girl as soon as she finished her prayer asked a nearby leader of the group: How should I live my life now?

We had an amazing English Camp this year and amazing time when we watched God’s hand on everything that was done. We thank God for Sanibel Community Church team that came with eight people and worked tirelessly all day long. As soon as the camp was finished several young people approached us asking to be baptized and to going the church. We praise God as we watch how young people are saved and His Kingdom is growing.

 Jesus was going through all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every kind of disease and every kind of sickness. (Matthew 9:35)

June 7 through 13 Moldova for Christ ministry’s team of 25 volunteers from seven cities and villages organized free medical clinic in Cahul, South Moldova where a new church is being planted.

Over seven thousand homes were visited in the city by our teams went sharing invitation to the evening programs. And God touched hearts of many as our youth knocked to their doors and handed invitations. More than two hundred people attended our evangelistic programs we conducted every evening. The place was filled to maximum capacity and many people stood in the doorway because there was no room for them to enter the hall. David Groves from Dallas, TX presented evangelistic messages to the congregation.

From early morning till evening medical clinic was conducted by volunteers both from USA and from Moldova. We used “Sermon on the mountain” Precept Bible study to teach passage from Matthew 7:21-27 to every patient as they arrived to the clinic. Everybody studied with such enthusiasm. A lady came to the Bible study and enjoyed studying the Word of God, in the evening she invited her husband to come to evangelistic meeting. Next day she came to go through the same Bible study again to understand the Word better.

After Bible study was the screening and were offered reading glasses to whom needed it. First text they tried to read with new glasses was John 3:16 printed on a card. After visiting our doctor’s mobile office everybody could visit our pharmacy and get need medicine for free. Many people were thanking us with eyes filled with tears. Many thanked us again and again for providing such a good service in the name of the Lord.

Children that attended evening evangelistic programs were invited to Puppet Show programs prepared by “Agape Puppets” team that tours all country with us as part of Moldova for Christ ministry. A Bible lesson was presented for children and of course songs and some games that help to cement the truth. Children invited their friends and every evening we had more and more little participants at the program. We praise God for the ones that trusted Lord Jesus Christ and pray they will attend our children’s program and grow spiritually.

As result of this project, more than 150 people trusted Jesus and we got over 220 addresses that will be visited by Moldova for Christ missionaries to Cahul – Yurii and Vladlena Semeniuc. The goal is to start home Bible study in every home of the people that visited our programs at least once. It is a special evangelistic project itself that requires a lot of effort, time and discipline. We pray many will grow in their knowledge of the Lord as they will study the

It was a blessing to work with IGO Missions team from USA that participated in the project and we deeply appreciate their sacrifice and help that made the whole project possible. Our partnership started more than 10 years ago and we look forward to other projects that God will allow us to do together.

Jesus said: I will not leave you as orphans, I will come to you.  (John 14:18)

May 29 was a very special day for both children and workers at Cahul orphanage when Moldova for Christ team visited the orphanage and presented Christian program along with much needed help for each child and for the institution. There are 56 orphans at this orphanage.

Our program included Agape Puppets team performance, Bible story with participation of children from orphanage, Christian songs, and games. Volunteers from Balti and Chisinau traveled to Cahul to conduct the program. Children received us with joy, sang with our team with much enthusiasm, and played games.

For more than three months we teach weekly Precept Bible study to these children. But this time, besides spiritual part of our visit, we also presented special gift for each child, which included toiletries, some school supplies, clothes and of course, lots of sweets. At the same time we helped the institution as well – with electrical tea pots, washing powder, and kitchen soap.

All these gifts will not replace their parents, but we want to be next to these children, to spend time with them as much as we can, and to express love of Christ. It was a blessing to visit these abandoned ones and to care for them. While on Earth, Jesus spent time not just with adults, but with children too. And they remain to be a blessing even when they do not have parents or when their parents do not understand this truth.

Every time we come to an orphanage we fall in love with the ones that live there and we do not want to leave the place. Children follow us to the door and ask to come back soon. Please pray about helping us reach more orphans and plant the seed of the Word of God into their precious hearts.

As we remember Jesus’ birth, the incarnation of the Son of God and our Savior, we wish His blessings to come upon you and His presence to guide you! He came to seek and save the lost by giving His life for our salvation. We have the reason to sing praises and we have the Good news to proclaim because He loved us so much! What more He could do for all of us? Jesus is our greatest and most real hope!

We also thank you for your prayers and support of Moldova for Christ Ministry as we proclaim Jesus mighty works and see Him move with power in Moldova. With your participation our teams lead dozens of Christmas concerts, Children’s programs, evangelistic receptions, movie shows, social events, public school programs throughout Moldova and God is bringing hundreds of new people that hear the Gospel of hope at these events. To the Christmas concert at Cupcini church God brought twice as many people than we have seats in the the sanctuary and we had all time record number of people in our building. People are saved every day and enlisted for the baptism because Jesus is saving people from their sins even today!

For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.

Bill Grubs shares his impressions after working with Moldova For Christ ministry for several years, doing crusades in Soroca, Cupcini, Cahul, Comrat, Dondușeni, Edinet, Briceni, and Balti.

Over three hundred visitors attended evangelistic meetings every evening. We were amazed to see many people come to the evangelistic programs, but did not want to see the doctors at our clinic. They were driven by the hunger for Truth. God touched many hearts of those who repented and trusted our Lord Jesus Christ.

Every morning five doctors from Jackson, MS conducted medical clinics for all the needy people. At the same time our local leaders and volunteers helped in many areas, like teaching inductive Bible studies for the patients, sharing the Gospel visually using Evangecube, presenting personal testimonies, meeting people, directing them through the clinic, answering questions and distributing reading glasses.

We saw people with many physical needs at the clinic and helped them with what God gave us. Some people came with very high blood pressure; others with high blood sugar. Some were recovering from surgeries; others were getting ready for surgery. Some with allergy problems; some with sick children and many with other health problems. It reminded us of the words of our Lord Jesus Christ that said the sick need the doctor, not the healthy. And we were glad to help many with their problems and struggles.

A lady that came to the clinic told us that she was waiting for our clinic since last year. Another person was amazed how well patients are treated. She has never received such attention at any other local hospitals.

We thank God for the passion for sharing the Gospel He gave our brothers and sisters, and for the brothers and sisters from First Baptist Church in Jackson, MS that worked day and night to make this project a blessing to everyone else. With their help and participation we were able to help over two hundred sixty patients.

Moldova for Christ Sports Ministry organized a baseball game between the Cupcini and Balti baseball teams on Saturday, September 17th. The teams played on a sports field at the Medical College in Balti. Since baseball is generally unheard of in Moldova, it attracted number a large of people who wanted to see what is going on.

The Cupcini team won the game, which was expected to some degree, since they have been playing baseball for five years and the Balti team is just starting.

Our Sports Ministry offers a great opportunity to build new friendships, get involved in the lives of people who do not know Christ and helps with physical conditioning. Also, it is good training experience in learning cooperation with others while achieving a goal, and training people to sacrifice their interest for a team’s success. It is a great asset for young people as they become missionaries, ministers, Christian leaders and promoters of God’s Kingdom on the earth.

We were very glad to see parents of some young players and people that simply came to support both teams in this tournament. God gave us a perfect opportunity to witness to these people. We were able to share with them about God’s work in our lives and in the lives of those that came to know Him when they came to baseball clinics and camps.

We thank God for the people that, in spite of the fact that they never attend any church, came to the event and were touched by the Word of God. They saw their friends and relatives that love the Lord, follow Him on the “narrow path” and live under the direction of Jesus Christ.

Our Lord can use many means to reach out to the unsaved, whether it be door-to-door ministering, crusades, puppet shows or sports events. He remains faithful to those who choose to follow Him no matter the venue.

God is at work in Chisinau Logos Christian Church. Proclaiming the Gospel by conducting Bible studies, children’s programs, Puppet shows, orphanage work and through church planting, six people recently joined the church through water baptism.  Everyone celebrated in this joyous occasion, when we saw the results of the work from our brothers and sisters serving our Lord there.

“It is a special day for us as a church and for these new brothers and sisters that are following our Lord’s command and getting baptized today. It is a very special day for every one of them, a day they were looking toward and prayed for. We need to have this kind of celebrations more often, at least each Sunday,” – Pastor of Logos Christian Church, Vasile Rusnac said.

Two people that were baptized, Nina and Tatiana, came from the city of Comrat, where a new church plant is underway. It is a city in Southern Moldova with a predominately Turkish population. God put His light in that city through a congregation committed to studying and proclaiming His Word.

Ivan is from Chisinau and was also baptized. He heard of the Lord from his wife who was saved and baptized last year. Since then he started attending our church, and just one year later made the decision to follow Christ.
Artyom and John are orphans that heard about Jesus from our people who worked in their school and invited them to attend the church and our Summer English Camp. One day John came to the church and said, “Pastor, I want to repent and to trust Jesus with all my heart and to follow Him.”  We prayed with him and he trusted Jesus for his salvation.

Artyom trusted Jesus when we were talking with him in our van about his life. He said he wants to believe in Christ and follow Him in water baptism.

Eudokia was saved when our youth went door-to-door visiting people in the village of Tirnova, in Northern Moldova. Bible study groups were started and new people were introduced to Jesus.  Eudokia has six small children. Her whole family, including her husband, started visiting our church regularly.  She became part of our church body and is ready to serve the Lord.

After the baptism we had an hour of fellowship and celebration.  Everybody personally congratulated the new church members and got to know them better.  We are looking forward to see how God will use these brothers and sisters as they serve Him by proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ to others!
